In celebration of Women’s History Month (and International Women’s Day on March 8!) we talked health and wellness with some of the women who work behind the scenes at Iron Tribe. Each of these women play a key role in ensuring Iron Tribe Fitness operates smoothly on a day-to-day basis. From the gym level to the national-brand level, these women help us live out our mission of creating fitness communities that change lives!
Why are you passionate about fitness?
Jessica: Fitness can change the direction of your life if you let it! It affects not only your physical health but also your mental and emotional health.
Jen: Fitness has been a steady form of self-love and self-care in my life for many, many years. Fitness has greatly impacted my life, and I love having the opportunity to see it impact the lives of our members day in and day out at Iron Tribe.
Meghan: Fitness is a mental, physical and spiritual game-changer.
Jenny: I gained so much self confidence after I started Iron Tribe. Having never been an athlete before, I had doubts I could do the program, but 7 years later, I’m still learning new limits!
Karen: Fitness is the best mental wellness tool around! Moving your body and getting your heart rate up helps get your mind and spirits up as well!
What is your best health and wellness tip?
Jessica: Start small —but START something!
Jen: CONSISTENCY! The more consistent you are, the more being healthy becomes an enjoyable lifestyle and not a constant struggle.
Meghan: Eat your protein. Drink you water. And lift those (heavy) weights.
Jenny: Know your limits. A good sweat is all you need. You can get plenty of good benefits by just moving rather than doing too much and having to sit out.
Karen: Don’t miss a Monday!
What’s something you wish you could tell the teenage version of yourself?
Jessica: There is so much more life to live. Enjoy the ride instead of worrying about today!
Jen: Even though you might feel imperfect, your body is amazing and truly a gift from God — honor it!
Meghan: Your worth is not measured by your weight.
Jenny: Life will be ok! Don’t put up walls. Instead, focus on personal connections, love others and allow them to love you — just as you were created!
Karen: Dream big, and sprint there! Failure is inevitable. Don’t waste your time on fear.
