Short Term Goals
To “take the board” on a regular basis. Seriously though, I love the idea of improving both internally and externally. Thus, I hope to continue beating my Personal Records (PR’s) and every now and then it feels nice to be on top. Starting in 2011, I am going to concentrate especially on three components; Olympic Lifts (two days per week) – Endurance (5K Every Weekend) – Personal Weaknesses (OHS & Pullups).
Long Term Goals
To “own the board” — literally. I want to purchase the acrylic wall and take it home with me. How much? Seriously though, I would love to compete with the affiliate team for ITF in the future!
Hobbies
I love to play sports… especially basketball. Golf, Tennis and Pool are are also favorites of mine. As far as music, I play classical piano and specialize in Beethoven Sonatas. Hanging out with my daughter Savanah is also a fav pass time for me. We do lots of the same things, including CrossFit!
Profession
Director of Biz Dev for ITF // Entrepreneur
Favorite Quotation
Without counsel, plans fail. But with many advisors, they succeed. Proverbs 15:22
Bio
I am originally from Syracuse, New York and ended up in the greater Birmingham (AL) area when I accepted a baseball scholarship from Bob Riesener at the University of Montevallo (UM). After graduating from UM in 2005, I started my company (J.Anthony Productions, LLC), which focuses on several different projects that service high school and/or college athletes and coaches with video production and streaming solutions as well as social networking technology for high school athletes with NEXTSPEX.com, to interact more efficiently in the recruiting process. I also serve as the broadcasting director for the Gulf South Conference (GSC) and professionally broadcast sports for television networks such as ESPNU and Comcast SportsNet Southeast (CSS). MOST IMPORTANTLY, I married my wife Yazmin in June of 2009 and we live in the Hollywood Villas (about one mile from ITF Homewood) with our daughter Savanah (8 years old/2nd grade). Joining the Iron Tribe Fitness staff is one of the neatest things that has happened to me. I met Luan Nguyen, ITF’s Director of Training, in the Fall of 2009 and he introduced me to CrossFit as well as telling me about “this new fitness box he was helping open up.” From there, I was a charter member at ITF Homewood in February 2010 and was blessed to hit it off with our fearless leader Forrest Walden. He and I connected on an entrepreneurial level and before you know it, I joined the team! What an awesome blessing…

Hey Jim, if you go to ”groups” on the home page and join the group called ”workout logs”. From there, you can create your own thread and call it ”jim cavales workout log” and you can use that to track each wod you do.
