Description

I am proposing that no matter how good or bad you feel your appearance was before you started CrossFit nor how good or bad you feel your appearance is now, ”the proof is in the pudding!”

Thus, I’d like to start a before and after group for those who wish to share testimonials with language and pictures of how CrossFit has changed their lives psychologically, nutritionally and, yes people, aesthetically.

Crossfit is the best thing that has happened to my ”fitness career”. I knew there were other ways to get fit besides the Upper Body on Mondays, Lower body on Wednesdays and Abs and cardio in between routine.

I come from a kickboxing background and fought on a national level. I was coached by an undefeated fighter from China and the head coach of the U.S. Chinese Kickboxing team. I knew that my best conditioning was when I was actively competing.

So…I went back to my kickboxing roots and started fight training with Mixed Martial Arts in addition to my weight training. I did this for several years. Day in and day out i would live spar in boxing, kickboxing, wrestling and jiu jitsu with the best pro fighters in the southeast. I found myself back at my ”fighting weight and fighting conditioning”. I was on the competition team and trained 4-5 days a week and was in the best shape of my life!….or so i thought!

While i became very conditioned in anything requireing body weight movements, i was losing work capacity in other areas of fitness. Fittingly, this came to me in my first CF workout, called Fight Gone Bad. After being crushed during FGB and walking away with a low score…i knew something had to change.

So yes with Crosfit, my work capacity has increase across broad time domains and modalities…but the main reason why im here is because of the community, the tribe. Never have I been a part of something better. Something more powerful or more moving. Something that is timeless and provides results that are real. I believe in the programming and using it to spread true fitness. Lastly, I believe in each one of you. The efforts i see daily are unbelieveable and strives me to be a better coach and athlete. Thank you all fellow Crossfitters!!

Before I started CrossFit it took me 33 minutes to run a 5K and I had to walk twice. Yet, if you looked at me you would have thought I was in great shape. Now after several years of CrossFit I can run a 5K in 20 minutes and that is without ever training specifically for running. On top of that every one of my lifts are stronger and I am 15 pounds lighter than when I practiced that unfunctional activity called bodybuilding…

Hey Joel … glad to hear the blood pressure is dropping.

Don’t let it raise the next time you find out that burpees are on the workout menu.

After only two weeks, my pain level and pain threshold have increased. I also have a new hatred for burpees, which I had never even heard of.

Only one week of crossfit and my blood pressure is dropping.
