First of all, I am not a blogger. I do not feel any need to express myself openly in a public forum. However, I have recently remembered how much music really motivates me, so I made a crossfit playlist that actually motivated myself and some of my best friends in Today’s AMRAP WOD. So, with that said, I wanted to illustrate my playlist and reasoning behind song placement. Read on if you care…otherwise listen out for my playlists at Irontribe and feel free to hit me up with some of your requests.
For Today’s AMRAP, we basically had a total of 18 minutes. So, here is what I think a great 18 minutes would consist of. This is a starter song with some “Chill Bump” “Primal Roar” “Dig DEEP” tracks built in to motivate at the right time.
1. Firestarter- Prodigy
2. On to the next one- Jay-Z
3. Bark at the moon- Ozzy Osbourne
4. Hello, Good Morning- Diddy (Feat T.I.)
5. Hands All over- Soundgarden
Now, This was a great first attempt (Me, Groban, and Cavale all started screaming when Jay-Z lit up, so I know it was effective), but sitting down with my CDs tonight, I came up with this new and improved playlist. I’ve listened to it a couple of times and I believe I could have gotten more done faster today with this line-up.
1. Firestarter- Prodigy Simply a fantastic starting song.
2. On to the next one- Jay-Z – Still need that primal scream after the initial burst of energy.
3 Hypnotize- Notorious B.I.G.- This song just gets me crazy pumped. I need it at the 8 minute mark.
4. Enter Sandman- Metallica- This the one that will get me even though I’m running on instinct at this point.
5. Hello, Good Morning- Diddy- Great finisher. I need the sick beat. I’ll be delirious so I need crazy hype.
6. Hands All over- Soundgarden- If I’m still in the WOD, This will make me ignore my brain and burn all the gas……
Now, I’m gonna make some playlists for Different Days. Strength, Olympic, Short WOD, Long WOD, etc. Here are some more songs that get me jacked…
For Whom the Bell Tolls- Metallica
Train of Consequences- Megadeth
Keep Hope Alive- The Crystal Method
Give it to Me- Timbaland (Feat Justin Timberlake)
Sober- Tool
Busy Child- The Crystal Method
Brush Away- Alice in Chains
One- Metallica
Whiskey in the Jar- Metallica
AC/DC- Thunderstruck
Crazy Train- Ozzy Osbourne.
What are some of your favorites? I know I have missed some amazing tunes, but this is my first attempt.
